The
boat departs from The Sony Evans Harbour in Shelly Beach, close to Margate on the Natal South Coast. The charter boat can
accommodate 10 fishing guests, 1 skipper and 1 helper.
Viking dry launches daily at 06h45 during winter months.
During summer months there are sometimes two fishing charter trips per day, the first leaves at 05h00 and then again at 13h00, weather permitting.

Skipper
Melville Hollamby is a qualified charter skipper with more than 10 years
experience in South Africa and Mozambican waters.
He has also done skipping for
MSC cruises during his skipping career. 
Ask anyone on the Hibiscus Coast about Skipper Melville and
you will hear all about his great sense of humour, his dedication and willingness to always care
about all who steps on to his boat.
Young or old, the experienced or
inexperienced fisherman, Skipper Melville is always there to ensure that
everyone on board is well looked after, each individual's requirement must be met
and exceeded on board says Skipper Melville.
Skipper
Melville is also an advanced NAUI Scuba Diver and currently busy with the dive
master course qualification.
A Skipper who is a keen diver, respects nature, and in particularly the protection of sharks is a man that stands firm when it comes to protecting our natural environment.
Viking Extreme charters do not support killing of sharks. When a shark is accidentally caught it will immediately and safely be released back into the water
Bottom fishing is not done on Protea Banks because it is a
self appointed environmentally protected area which deserves to be treated with
respect says Skipper Melville.
However we do game and bottom fishing close to
shore so we do not impose on the sharks.
Viking offers a superb game and bottom fishing experience in a all in one trip at reasonable rates. There are no hidden costs as everything needed on board is supplied, rods for both game and bottom fishing, bait and tackle, even a yummy snack box.
In season rates are R550 per person fishing, this
includes between 6 to 8 hours of fishing (weather permitting).
Fishing permits are essential but Martie is always willing to assist in obtaining the relevant permits if requested in advance and prior to charter date.
Reduced fees will apply for non fishing charters. We are a family business says Martie, Skipper Melville's wife and therefore we understand the importance of accommodating partners and children on board.
